Strategies for reducing emissions include transitioning to renewable energy sources (such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power), improving energy efficiency, and adopting sustainable agricultural practices. Carbon sequestration involves capturing and storing CO2 from the atmosphere, either through natural processes (such as reforestation and soil management) or technological solutions (such as carbon capture and storage, or CCS).

Activated carbon is highly porous and is used for filtration and purification processes in water treatment, air purification, and chemical processing.
